I went to college to study Aerospace Engineering. For a little while, I worked in a laboratory doing research with lasers and composite materials. Then I worked with a friend doing design and building of commercial projects. After that I was an in-house web developer for a conservation science organization.

Most recently I worked for the San Francisco Ethics Commission as a Senior Information System Engineer. While I was there I designed, developed, and maintained data platforms, analytics systems, public transparency tools, and workflow automation solutions. The Ethics Commission ia a small city department overseeing campaign finance disclosure, compliance, enforcement, auditing, and public accountability. With around 25 staff members I had the opportunity to work with every division, developing technology solutions for their everyday problems and one-off projects.
